Mr. Francisco CEBALLOS GODÍNEZ has provided legal and corporate advice to companies, investors, governmental entities, international organizations, and multilateral banks in various sectors of the national and international economy. He has experience managing companies in areas such as construction, tourism, retail, and mass consumption, and has been part of boards of directors of leading companies in these sectors. In the legal field he has specialized in:

 

  • Mercantile law: contract law, corporate law, corporate governance and national and international arbitration.
  • Public international law: international investment arbitration under the ICSID Convention, bilateral investment treaties (BITs), free trade agreements; and multilateral banking loan agreements.

 

 

He was an attorney at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, D.C., as part of the World Bank Group, participating as Secretary of arbitral tribunals in investment arbitration.

 

His studies include programs in developing and developed countries: law school (Iteso in Mexico); Master of Laws (LLM from American University in Washington, D.C. in the USA) and Master of Business Administration (Escuela de Organización Industrial in Spain), as well as several diploma courses in arbitration, corporate, Anglo-Saxon and financial law.  In the area of social responsibility, he has founded and directed foundations focused on childhood cancer for the last 15 years.
